Why is VPS port 25 temporarily blocked?

Why is port 25 temporarily blocked?

We actively protect the reputation of our IP ranges. This ensures you benefit from better email deliverability and a lower risk of blacklisting issues.
Port 25 is widely abused worldwide for sending spam from new servers.
To prevent IP blacklisting and abuse reports, we block outbound SMTP traffic via port 25 by default for the first 30 days.

What can you use instead?

SMTP via port 587 (STARTTLS)
SMTP via port 465 (SSL)

External SMTP relays such as:

Mailgun
Mailjet
SMTP2GO

When can port 25 be opened?

After 30 days of stable use without any abuse reports, you can submit a ticket to request the opening of port 25.
